The screw filter press, or screw press, is a machine used for the dehydration of sludge from industrial processes or water purification.
It works by means of a worm screw system (screw) that gradually compresses the sludge inside a cylindrical chamber. During the movement of the screw, the excess water is expelled through filters or grids, leaving the compressed solids and thus reducing the volume of the material.
The compact design and energy efficiency make the screw press ideal for applications where a significant reduction in volumes is required.
It is particularly suitable for sludge with a high percentage of liquid and can operate continuously with limited maintenance. Its versatility allows it to be used in various sectors.
